| Anna Maria Claret 2005
Valley View is one of the first Oregon wineries to recognize the great potential of Bordeaux blends. We have usd various names such as "Reserve," "Meritage" and "Rogue Red" through the years but are pleased to have rediscovered "Claret." Peter Britt used this English word for Bordeaux red way back in the late 1800's on his bottle of Valley View blends.
The 2005 Claret is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. This wine clearly was better than any of the individual components and shows the winemaking and blending experience of John Guerrero who celebrated his 20th anniversary of making wine with Valley View in 2005. It is amazingly enjoyable now but we are confident it will be even better in year or so. |
